Four surfaces in a smaller ring.
Boucheron’s 2026 Quatre XS compresses a familiar architectural composition into a slimmer ring. Its interest becomes clearer when the four bands are read as different surface ideas, not simply different amounts of gold.

From a distance, a Quatre can resemble several rings stacked together. Up close, the encounter is more specific. Different textures and finishes establish a small architectural composition around the finger. The 2026 extra-small version asks how much of that identity can remain in a slimmer form.
Read the surfaces before the materials list
Boucheron identifies four design codes: grosgrain, the diamond line, Clou de Paris and double gadroons. The references move between textile, jewellery and architectural language. A ribbed surface and a patterned relief do not meet light in the same way as a polished line. Their relationship gives the ring more information than a description limited to its precious-metal content.
The maker describes the component rings being finished separately before precision assembly. Quatre XS introduces a narrower interpretation in Classique and Black versions. The pictured Classique combines yellow, pink and white gold with diamonds and brown PVD. That brown surface is not a naturally brown gold alloy, and the same materials should not be assigned to every Quatre execution.
The scale changes the encounter
Try the actual width on a hand rather than assuming the most substantial version is the most satisfying. Ask about sizing, surface care and the service implications of the exact reference. The value can lie in how a developed design vocabulary survives a change of scale and remains comfortable to wear. A recognisable name opens the conversation, but the work is in the details that a wearer can continue to notice.

The supplied photograph identifies the 2026 Quatre Classique diamond ring in extra-small form, not the Black, ceramic or larger versions. PVD is distinguished from solid gold. No stone grading, authentication or resale assessment of an individual ring is offered.
