Privacy, plainly.

Your saved stories.

Saving is optional and needs no account. When you choose Save for later, up to 100 story identifiers are stored in this browser under whv-saved-readings-v1. They remain until you remove them or clear browser storage. The list is not synchronised between devices, uploaded to WHV or sent to Google Analytics. We do not track the saved-list page or save and remove actions in Analytics.

The saved list uses browser storage only to provide the feature you request. Blocking that storage may prevent saving but does not prevent reading.

Who is responsible.

Browsing and correspondence.

The application has no account, email-subscription form, payment flow or advertising tracker. Search terms appear in URLs and may appear in ordinary hosting request logs. Avoid personal or sensitive information. We do not send search terms to Analytics.

Vercel hosts the site and processes technical request information needed for delivery and security, including IP address, URL, browser details and request time. If you email us, we receive your address, message and any attachments you choose to send.

Our basis for secure operation, answering enquiries and maintaining accurate editorial records is legitimate interests. Information may also be retained where required by law. Sending a message is optional. It is not a condition of reading.

Optional readership analytics.

On the public website, Google Analytics 4 is offered only with your consent. Until you accept, we do not load the Google analytics script or send analytics requests. Accepting and declining are equally available, and neither changes access to the publication.

When accepted, Analytics receives page views, broad technical and geographic information, reading progress, and which featured stories, internal recommendations, area links or search results lead to another WHV page. Google processes connection information, including IP address, to deliver the service. This is not anonymous browsing. We remove URL queries and fragments from the page addresses we send, do not send search terms, restrict tracked paths to known publication pages and reduce external referrers to their website origin. We do not enable Google signals, advertising personalisation, user IDs or enhanced measurement.

The _ga and _ga_* cookies distinguish browsers and sessions. We configure their lifetime to 180 days without renewal on each visit. Your granted or declined choice is stored locally for 180 days under whv-analytics-consent-v1. Use Privacy choices below to change it. Withdrawal stops future collection and clears these analytics cookies in this browser. It does not automatically erase data already received by Google.

Google may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Its privacy information and international-transfer documentation explain its arrangements. Consent can be withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Contact us about an access or deletion request. Do not send sensitive documents or cookie identifiers unsolicited.

Providers and retention.

Information is available to people handling publication responsibilities and the hosting, optional analytics and email-service providers needed for those services. We do not sell correspondence or add senders to marketing lists.

Google Analytics user-level and event-level retention is set to two months, without resetting that period for new activity. This control does not remove aggregated standard reports.

Technical logs follow the hosting service’s security and retention controls. We keep correspondence while needed to resolve a request, maintain a relevant correction or rights record, or meet a legal obligation. Necessity and sensitivity determine retention.

Hosting and communications may involve processing outside your country, including the United States. Vercel explains its transfer arrangements and safeguards in its privacy notice. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your request.

Your rights and choices.

Subject to applicable law, you can request access, correction, deletion or restriction, and portability where applicable. Write to info@innovationauthority.com. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity.

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Explain the circumstances so that we can consider your objection.

You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or the relevant data-protection authority where you live or work. Contacting us first is welcome but not required.

No personal ranking.

Daily editorial rotation is the same for every reader, not a personal profile or an automated decision with legal or similarly significant effects.

External links open services with their own privacy practices. This notice will be updated when the services or information handling change.
