When platinum behaves like lace.

Buccellati’s 2026 Opera Tulle platinum pendants make the spaces between metal part of the design. Chrysoprase adds colour without making the stone the whole story.

Some jewellery asks you to look at the stone first. Opera Tulle rewards attention to what passes in front of it. A fine radial network of metal gives the surface a textile-like rhythm, making light, gaps and the layer beneath part of the ornament.

Look between the bright parts

Buccellati announced three platinum pendants in September 2026. Two combine the pale metal with green chrysoprase, with and without diamonds, while the third pairs platinum and diamonds without the green stone. They continue the collection’s tulle vocabulary rather than introducing an unrelated shape under a familiar name. The photographed pendant is the chrysoprase and diamond version.

The reason to look closely is the relationship between material and construction. Platinum content alone cannot explain the finished piece, just as the colour of a stone cannot explain how the surrounding metal changes its appearance. The open pattern makes an inherited workshop language legible in something that can be worn now, not only studied in an archive.

Examine the construction, not only the name

Compare the three versions in person if possible, including the reverse, suspension and how the pendant rests. Ask the maker about care, repair and the exact materials of the reference you choose. A contemporary signature and fine workmanship do not establish a profitable secondary market. The strongest case here is the particular pleasure of living with an object whose detail keeps rewarding attention.
