Anagram, a sofa that can change its mind.
Panter&Tourron’s Anagram treats a sofa as an arrangement that can change with a room. Its replaceable parts make that idea concrete.

A sofa usually arrives with a fairly fixed idea of the room it belongs in. Anagram begins with a platform and a more open question. Where should people sit, which way should they face, and what happens when the room changes? Its generous cushions make that flexibility feel domestic rather than mechanical.
The parts are the proposition
Panter&Tourron’s design for Vitra combines platforms with repositionable upholstered panels and attachable tables. The maker also lists individual platforms, cushions, covers and glides for ordering. Removable fabric covers can be cleaned or replaced. This is a more useful claim than an unspecified promise that a sofa will last forever.
The value is room to reconsider. A different configuration or a renewed cover may preserve a substantial purchase through a move, a different household or simply a change of taste. That possibility depends on the continuing availability and cost of the components. It does not establish a favourable second-hand price.
Plan for the next room
Try the intended upholstery and firmness, measure the complete arrangement and ask a dealer to price the parts you might later need. Check access through doors and stairs as well as the floor plan. A modular system earns its keep when its dimensions and adjustment options suit the way you actually live.
