The white, red and blue bodywork announces a particular kind of ambition. Honda created the VFR750R, better known as the RC30, for World Superbike homologation in 1987. The following two seasons brought consecutive world titles. It is a road motorcycle whose identity cannot be separated from competition.

But look beyond the racing record. Honda’s RC Forever programme makes selected genuine parts available through its dealer network. That is a different kind of heritage: not only celebrating an old machine, but helping owners keep one working. The programme is limited by stock, with delivery and sales timing varying by part.

This is the detail worth carrying into another collecting conversation. Who still knows the object, and who can help when it needs attention? A trophy on a shelf and a machine with a future on the road offer different pleasures. For the RC30, the availability of a particular component should be checked before a restoration plan becomes a purchase decision.
