DISCOVERY / Sherry & Seasonal Bottling
A season in a glass.
Tío Pepe en Rama 2026 turns attention to a moment in the cellar. The spring cask selection opens a conversation about flor, timing and the people choosing the wine.
Published 7 October 2026 · WHV · Public-source editorial note
The words en rama can sound like another premium label if the drinker has no idea what changes in the cellar. Tío Pepe en Rama 2026 offers a more useful starting point. It is a named spring release whose difference is tied to cask selection and to the biological ageing that shapes fino sherry.
A selection, not a souvenir
González Byass dates this edition to April 2026 and identifies Antonio Flores and Silvia Flores as the people selecting it. The producer says it is bottled once a year while flor is particularly active, with minimal filtration. The regional Sherry body explains the broader bottling language. The maker’s descriptions of aroma and the season are first-party observations, not a tasting conducted by WHV.
The interesting scarcity is contextual. Another year will not have exactly the same cellar conditions or cask decision. That does not make the bottle an asset likely to rise in price. Storage, distribution and the moment of opening are ordinary matters for a wine meant to be enjoyed. The producer publishes the photograph with its 2026 announcement, but it cannot establish the condition of a bottle offered elsewhere.
Open it as a drink
Seek the exact 2026 release from a reputable merchant and ask how it has been stored. Taste it alongside a standard fino if possible, and notice what you can and cannot honestly attribute to en rama bottling. There is pleasure in a drink that lets you ask about the season and the people behind it. There is no need to turn that pleasure into a speculative position.
