HÅG Capisco 8106, a chair that leaves room to move.

Peter Opsvik’s saddle chair is easier to understand when you try it with the desk you actually use.

Flokk’s studio photograph shows the Capisco 8106 and its saddle seat, with a moss grey finish on the base.

The Capisco 8106 puts a saddle seat below a backrest that reaches out to each side. Those shapes allow different ways of sitting, including a higher perch and positions that use the backrest differently. The real test is whether the desk and chair let you use that range comfortably during work.

Try it near your normal typing height and at a higher surface. Compare how easily you can place your feet, move close to the desk and change position when you want to. If the usual desk height only works with one setting, ask to try a different lift before choosing.

Flokk publishes repair instructions for the 8106. On a second-hand example, identify the lift, upholstery and seat mechanism, then ask a dealer which parts they can supply. The advantage of knowing the exact model becomes clearer when a worn part needs attention.
