The hob beneath the surface.
Gaggenau’s Essential Induction leaves a kitchen worktop visually continuous. The engineering beneath it deserves equal attention.

A kitchen island often becomes the place where cooking, conversation and work overlap. A conventional hob permanently marks one part of it as equipment. Gaggenau’s Essential Induction offers a different visual arrangement, leaving the cooking technology beneath the surface.
The system beneath the simplicity
The system pairs induction modules with a specified 12 mm Dekton worktop, front-mounted controls and small light indicators. Gaggenau also requires its magnetic surface protectors between cookware and the worktop. The apparently simple surface therefore depends on a carefully coordinated set of parts.
The value is a quieter spatial arrangement that can serve several moments of daily life. The trade-off is equally important: the installation is tied to compatible materials and specialist components. Visual discretion should not make the owner overlook access, ventilation or eventual repair.
Ask how it will be serviced
Have the kitchen designer confirm the exact approved surface, cut-outs, cookware and installation requirements. See a working demonstration, including the indicators and protectors. Ask how a failed module would be reached and replaced. The elegant result is worthwhile only if the operational details suit the household.
