Flos SuperWire, the filament you can reach.
Formafantasma makes the light source the design and gives it a route back into service.

A line of light in a glass column has the economy of an early electric lamp. In SuperWire, Formafantasma uses a flexible strip developed with Flos to make that line visible on an architectural scale. Flat glass and aluminium give it a clear enclosure without hiding the source.
The designers connect the construction to their earlier investigation of electronic waste. Flos describes the lamp as disassemblable and the strip as user replaceable. This matters more than the visual suggestion of an old filament. A failed light source need not mean retiring the entire fixture.
Choose between the table, floor and suspended forms by looking at the lit object from the seats and passages you actually use. Before ordering, confirm that the correct replacement strip and instructions are available through your local supplier. A serviceable design still depends on a supply of parts.
