Dallara Stradale, a body that changes with the drive.
A carbon-fibre road car can move between open and enclosed configurations. Dallara makes the ownership question unusually physical.

Some cars explain themselves through a badge. The Dallara Stradale makes more sense when you look at what can be removed or added. Its body can be configured as an open barchetta, a spider or a coupé, changing the relationship between the driver and the air.
One chassis, different ways to drive
Dallara’s current specification identifies a carbon-fibre monocoque, carbon bodywork and a 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The published dry weight is 855 kilograms. Dry weight is not the same as a fully fuelled, ready-to-drive measurement, and equipment choices matter when comparing examples.
The car is interesting because its maker’s work in lightweight structures and aerodynamics becomes something an owner can encounter directly. The windscreen, roof and aerodynamic package are meaningful choices about use. Headline downforce figures belong to defined configurations and speeds. They are not a description of an ordinary journey through town.
Start with the roads you will use
Before commissioning or buying a Stradale, try getting in and out, check visibility and discuss the configuration you will actually use. Establish local registration, servicing and parts arrangements with an authorised dealer. For a used car, a specialist inspection of its structure and track history is more valuable than a dramatic specification sheet. This is a particular kind of driving pleasure, with equally particular ownership demands.
