The journey beyond the ship

Aqua Expeditions describes twice-daily excursions led by naturalist guides in small groups. The ship operates in the Peruvian Amazon, with itineraries and activities that depend on the chosen departure. Its cabins and shared spaces provide a base, but the guiding programme is the more consequential part of the proposition.

The enduring value of a journey may be the ability to notice something you previously could not identify. That depends on the guide, season and time spent outside, not simply the level of accommodation. Wildlife encounters are contingent, and an operator’s itinerary cannot guarantee a particular sighting.
